Are you a mom, dad, or other caregiver that loves sharing stories, product reviews, and your valuable knowledge with others? Or, maybe you’re a budding family photographer who would like to teach parents how to take better Instagram photos of our loved ones. Maybe you have great recipes to share for baby led weaning. I suggest you message me about contributing to Curated by Cherish! Guest blogging is a fantastic way to gain credibility and build your network!
No, you don’t have to be a parent. You don’t even need to write explicitly about parenting. If you feel that your voice and unique perspective would match well here, I want to hear from you!
Guest Blogging Builds Your Credibility
The more you write about your expertise, the more you are establishing that you are indeed the expert. You are able to add writing for X amount of blogs in your credentials, an “As seen on. . .” – as you will. (In fact, I keep an “As seen on. . . ” in my About section!)
Let’s add Curated by Cherish to that credentials list! I am looking for bloggers that write or work in the niche of parenthood or childcare. This could be a fellow mommy blogger, or a family photographer, or even a pediatric physical therapist (for example).
Guest Blogging Brings Traffic to Your Website
Guest Blogging Provides Backlinks
Backlinks are links that are incoming to your website (or facebook or instagram) from another website. Backlinks are a form of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). They are awesome little tools that tell Google search engines, “Hey, this website is relevent!” so that you can show up in more searches and hopefully make it to the front page, one day!
By guest blogging, you provide yourself a backlink from my website to yours! One great example of this is my “Parenthood in Pandemic” series – besides allowing these powerful women share their stories about giving birth during the pandemic, I also ensure I share their social media handles, as well!
Guest Blogging Puts YOU in front of a New Audience
Besides being beneficial to SEO, backlinking is also special, because it means that you get to put your words, photographs, and effort in front of a brand new audience. If you contribute a post to my blog, it means that I find your to be relevent, and that my readers will enjoy your content, too! BAM! New readers for you to entice with your content creation!
Guest Blogging Helps Build Your Network
No matter what field you work in, relationships are absolutely crucial in order to succeed. I absolutely believe in lifting others up and empowering a community. I noticed that the bloggers that I have collaborated with end up being true connections. We both interact with each other’s content on our blogs or social media posts!
This network also allows referrals. For example, if an opportunity may not suit me, I may have someone that might be a better fit! Or if I love someone’s work, I might be more prone to sharing it on my social media channels. These networking relationships get stronger with guest blogging.
Guest Blogging can increase your Social Media Following
When someone contributes to my blog, I share their posts on social media. Every blog post equals tweets, pins, and a few instagram stories. Of course, not only do I direct my readers to the link to the new post, but I tag my contributor, as well. If my readers enjoy that content, they have the opportunity to follow my guest blogger!
Let’s Talk About YOU being a guest blogger on my website.
I chose the domain “Curated by Cherish” because it was open ended. I could write about whatever I wanted and it would be on brand. While I noticed that I love writing about motherhood and babycare, there are so many topics that are applicable to Curated by Cherish.
